I will be on Spain PK in regulation time tomorrow. I believe Xabi Alonso and Sergio Bouquets can lock down Ozil and Schwine while the back 4 of Pique, Puyol, Capdevilla and Ramos can contain Podolski and Klose. On the offensive side of the ball, i expect Xavi and Iniesta to wreak some havoc and create chances for David Villa and Torres (if he starts) for them to do their things.
Casillas is playing better as the tourney progresses. The loss of Mueller pretty much negates Torres and his form, or lack thereof. Fabregas is available off the bench for offensive support.
This will be Germany's toughest test to date. They have shown they are capable of beating anyone on any given day but I also like the fact Spain is well-equipped to hang with anyone. They have also gotten rid of the *chokers* label, having won the European Championship 2 years earlier. As a matter of fact, this is the furthest that they have advanced in a World Cup and this is perhaps their best chance for a shot at glory as the mainstays aren't getting any younger (Casillas is 29, Villa is 28, Puyol is 32, Xavi is 30 and Xabi Alonso is 28)
I do not expect to see another German blowout tomorrow. This game could very well go into extra-time and I will get my money back if that's the case. I maybe in a minority picking Spain, seeing how the Germans have annihilated everyone else so far, but I am comfortable doing so, knowing that Spain won't go down without a fight and that's all I can ask for.
Cheers!
